This publication was originally intended to be part of the second, expanded edition of Architectural Concrete: Technical Guidelines (Kraków 2025), but due to the length of the text and the abundance of photographic material, the author decided to divide it and publish it as two separate volumes. In this publication, much attention is paid to the materials used in concrete production, with particular emphasis on its impact on its appearance—especially color and surface texture. The extensive section discussing cladding and formwork systems aims to enable more informed selection for shaping the texture of architectural concrete. A completely new element of the book is its third part, in which—in addition to describing the author's experiences with the design and implementation of architectural concrete, using selected projects as examples (from concept, through testing and specification development, to project supervision), architects and investors also contribute their thoughts on the use of this material in design and construction practice.
